Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

From the start, Ford has been synonymous with police work. Upon the debut of its legendary flathead V8, Ford fast became the Number 1 choice for police forces. Ford was the first automaker to bundle parts specifically for police duty, establishing it as the only manufacturer to continuously offer - now for a full 58 years running - a police package in its car line. Ford offers you the market's only standard V8-powered, rearwheel drive interceptor with a body-on-frame build. Don't settle for ordinary when you can have legendary.

The Ford Crown Victoria is a rear-wheel drive full-size car first produced by the Ford Motor Company for the North American market in the mid-1950s. Its current incarnation has been in production since 1992 at Ford's St. Thomas Assembly plant.

Dodge Charger Police Sedan

The Dodge Charger, is a rear-wheel drive full-size automobile built by Chrysler LLC for its North American Dodge brand.

Unlike the civilian version, the police version features upgraded heavy-duty brakes, a severe-duty cooling system, police-performance Electronic Stability Program, police performance-tuned steering, and a gear shifter that is mounted on the steering column instead of in the center console. In place of the center console, Dodge has equipped the police edition with a steel plate appropriate for mounting radio equipment, computers, and controllers for lights and sirens. The vehicle's electrical system is specifically designed for integration of siren and light controls, and other police vehicle accessories.

The 340 hp (254 kW) Hemi V8 is powerful enough to accelerate the car from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 6.2 seconds and to a top speed of 150 mph (241 km/h). In numerous Police and Highway Patrol testing, the Charger V8 easily outperformed all other pursuit vehicles in acceleration, cornering, and braking.

Ford Explorer Special Services

The Ford Explorer is a mid-size SUV sold in North America and built by the Ford Motor Company since 1990, as a replacement for the smaller but related Ford Bronco II. It is manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky (it was also assembled in Hazelwood, Missouri until the plant closed on March 10, 2006). The Ford Explorer was instrumental in turning the SUV from a special-interest vehicle into one of the most popular vehicle types on the road. It is marked as Ford's only mid-sized SUV and is slotted between the larger Ford Expedition and the smaller Ford Escape.

To compete with other police SUVs that are sold by other automobile companies, Ford has made a special package for the Explorer that's only available to law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and EMS agencies. Ford calls it the Explorer Special Service Package. The only differences between the standard Explorer and the Special Service Package Explorer are provisions for emergency services related equipment such as radios, lightbars and sirens. There are also options designated fleet only such as custom 2 tone paint arrangements that are available to the Explorer Special Service Package.

To compete with large police SUVs that are sold by other automobile companies, primarily the Chevrolet Suburban, Ford has made a special package for the Expedition that's only available to law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and EMS agencies. Ford calls it the Expedition Special Service Package. The only differences between the standard Expedition and the Special Service Package Expedition are provisions for emergency services related equipment such as radios, lightbars and sirens. About Pennsylvania Costars

COSTARS is a new approach to the Cooperative Purchasing Program. COSTARS encourages the formulation of an interactive partnership between Local Public Procurement Units and the Commonwealth.

There are approximately 6,000 Local Public Procurement Units taking advantage of existing Commonwealth contracts. Our goal is to provide better contracts with competitive pricing, while increasing participation of eligible participants.

DGS requires Local Public Procurement Units and State Affiliated Entities to register as COSTARS Members, and only those entities registered with DGS may purchase from the Contract. Several thousand potential Purchasers are already registered with DGS as COSTARS Members. THE COSTARS CONTRACTOR AGREES TO SELL ITEMS OR SERVICES UNDER THIS CONTRACT TO DGS-REGISTERED COSTARS MEMBERS. THE COSTARS CONTRACTOR IS NOT PERMITTED TO USE THIS CONTRACT TO SELL TO NON-COSTARS MEMBERS.

The COSTARS Program is intended for the exclusive use of member organizations. Individuals associated with the member Organization are prohibited from using the contracts for personal purchases. Failure to abide by this may result in the member organization being removed from the COSTARS Program and appropriate legal action being taken against the individual(s) who improperly used the COSTARS Contract.
